Situazione, condizione, produzione...disegno

Considerando DR9, visionato questo pomeriggio, mi sembra utile riflettere su questi tre "input" che stanno all'origine del progetto Drawing Restraint.

SITUATION
Situation is raw drive. It is a sexsual energy without discipline or direction. It is described by a diagram of the male and the female reproductive system in the six weeks old developing fetus. The sex of the fetus remains undifferentiated for the first seven weeks. Situation is indefferentiated sexual energy, and is characterized by hunger and indiscriminate consumption.

CONDITION

Condition is the visceral funnel. Condition disciplines the oral intake of Situation. In Condition, the undifferentiated field of sexual energy begins to take form. Condition functions like the stomach, systematically breaking down the bolus ingested by Situation, nourishing it and encouraging growth.

PRODUCTION
Production is the anal output of the path. Production is described by the form of two-headed dumbbell called the unit BOLUS. The unit bolus has the potential to close the three-phase PATH, joining the mouth of Situation with the anus of Production, enabling a meditation on an endless loop between desire and discipline.

Inoltre pensando al "disegnare con restrizioni", è interessante notare come la parola disegno in inglese trova due usi distinti con design e to draw. Per cui, il primo si riferisce più al concetto, all'ambito progettuale, all'idea che precede il disegno; mentre il secondo all'azione, al gesto di tracciare una linea (trasporre un'idea sulla carta). Barney in tutto il suo progetto mette alla prova entrambe le parole. In particolare sembra attaccare esplicitamente il disegno in quanto "gesto impedito", dal primo al sesto dei DR, mentre con DR7 e soprattutto con DR9 sembra operare più sulla nozione di disegno come concetto, come idea che subisce una restrizione...
